Key Features

This is a sleeping bag cover that is a part of the M1945 gear system. The M1945 gear was used in conjunction with other gear used during WW2 and other systems afterwards, such as the M1956 system. The sleeping bag cover was used to provide soldiers with a basic level of protection when sleeping in the open. The case is only water-resistant and not waterproof. The user’s sleeping bag fits inside of it, and there are button snaps along the opening to close it up. There are openings at the bottom of the case where the intended use sleeping bag, the M1949 Mountain Bag, had straps that feed through so the bag and case could be kept as one piece and stored and carried together.

Features:

  • Water Resistant – It can be exposed to water for a short period of time without being damaged or saturated with water. Generally not recommended to submerge water-resistant items unless the item is made for that level of exposure.
  • Mummy Style Sleeping Bag – Sleeping bag fits snug to the user when inside, the small hood opening helps keep more warmth in as well.
